Director (Refineries) conferred with OCEANTEX 2010 Award
By Ms. Ciny Mathew Philip, SCCO, RHQ
New Delhi, March 10, 2010

Mr. B. N. Bankapur, Director (Refineries) was conferred with the prestigious OCEANTEX 2010 Award for ‘Outstanding Achievement - Oil Refining’ on March 04, 2010. The award was presented by Mr. Sankaranarayanan, Governor of Maharashtra for his outstanding contributions to the growth of the IndianOil Refineries.

Mr. Bankapur is at the helm of steering the IndianOil Refineries to set the benchmarks in terms of technology, efficiency, productivity and profitability. Under his leadership, IndianOil is building up adequate refining capacity by setting up new refinery in Paradip and capacity expansions, implementing the emerging technologies to meet the predominant demand for middle distillates and to improve the quality of India's petroleum products to make them environment-friendly and globally competitive.

The corporation owns and operates 10 of India's 20 refineries with a combined refining capacity of 60.2 MMTPA and plans to scale up to 80 MMTPA by the year 2011-12. Mr. Bankapur has taken the IndianOil Refining business to new highs in throughput and capacity utilization, thereby strengthening IndianOil’s dominance in the increasingly competitive and volatile market scenario.
